What is the difference between a Curly Cut 1 and a Curly Cut 1.5? How do I know what to book?

A Curly Cut 1 is a 60 minute appointment, a Curly Cut 1.5 is a 90 minute appointment. All new clients should book a Curly Cut 1.5 for their first appointment. After your first service, you will be know what to book for future appointments.

What do I need to do to prepare for my Curly Cut?

Please arrive for your Curly Cut with your hair down and dry, no hat or ponytail please. If you normally style your hair with product, please go ahead and style as usual. First day hair is preferable, but if that is not possible it is fine to wash and scrunch the hair the night before and to sleep with it loosely piled on top of the head in a loose, un-twisted hairband (a scrunchie works great). Take the hair down first thing in the morning and you’re all set!

I have curly hair, but sometimes I like to wear it straight. Should I still get a Curly Cut?

Yes! A Curly Cut is recommended for anyone that wears their hair curly most of the time. If you have curly hair but prefer to flat iron, or wear your hair straight most of the time, a traditional cut is the best option. Kati and Alexia are both accepting new clients for traditional cuts.

I have been chemically straightening my hair, but would like to go back to being curly. How does that work?

Welcome back to the curly world! There is a definite “in-between” period when transitioning from chemically straightened hair back to natural waves or curls. This in-between time can vary greatly depending on the type of straightening treatment used, and the number of applications. Please call the salon for a phone consultation to determine when is the appropriate time during your transition to book a Curly Cut.

Do you offer curly cuts for kids?

Ian offers Curly Cuts to individuals ages 12 and up. Kati offer Curly Cuts for children ages 6-12 years old. To schedule a Youth Curly Cut with Kati please call/text the salon at 858-779-4115. Youth Curly Cuts are not available via our online booking system.

Why do the prices for some services vary? How do I know exactly how much my service will cost?

Curly Cuts vary in cost from $150-225 depending on the hair length, density, curl type and desired style. Feel free to reach out to the salon with a photo of your hair if you would like personalized cost quote. Color services also vary dependent on the type of color work being performed. Please reach out to the salon if you need assistance in determining the proper type of color appointment and to receive a cost quote.

I just want a trim. Do I need to book a regular haircut?

Yes, a full haircut should be booked regardless of how much hair will be cut.

I can’t find an appointment online? Are you currently accepting new clients?

We are always accepting new clients! Ian is currently only accepting new clients for curl services. Stacy and Alexia are accepting new clients for specialty color services and traditional cuts. Kati is accepting new clients for cut and color services and Youth Curly Cuts. If you are not finding anything online that fits your schedule, please call the salon.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

We understand that schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice so we can accommodate other clients. All late cancellations or no-shows will results in late cancellation fee of $50/hour, dependent on the length of the canceled appointment.

If an appointment has been rescheduled more than three times it will automatically be cancelled. If an appointment has been cancelled due to excessive rescheduling the client may be required to provide a deposit in order to schedule a new appointment time.
